Tourney Rules 2007-2008 S E A C O A S T H O C K E Y L E A G U E T O U R N A M E N T
The Tournament Director, Bob Brown has final say on all Issues. Assistant Tournament Directors: Bill Rollins, Ray McGilvray, Caroline Bandouveres or their designated representative will act on any issues if the Tournament Director is not available. The Tournament Director WILL RULE on all Game Misconducts & Match Penalties. Any organization that withdraws from the tournament will be assessed a FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR ($500) FINE and all coaches from the team will be suspended from League Play for a MINIMUM OF 30 DAYS & MAXIMUM OF ONE YEAR, at the start of the next season.
HOME TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide pucks for the game. (Blue puck to be used in Mite games) 2. Provide penalty box attendant – zero tolerance will be enforced. 3. Maximum of 4 team officials permitted to occupy the bench area. VISITING TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Provide penalty box attendant – zero tolerance will be enforced. 2.Maximum of 4 team officials permitted to occupy the bench area.
PLAYING RULES:
Regular playing rules will be in effect with the following exceptions: 1. Mites-Squirt-Peewee-Bantam, all games will be played to SUDDEN DEATH. A One (1) Minute rest period will be allowed between overtime periods. 2. Five (5) Penalty rule. Any player receiving a Game Misconduct as a result of the five penalty rule WILL NOT BE SUSPENDED for the next game. 3. PROTEST: If a PROTEST is lodged by a coach during a game, the Tournament Director will act on the protest immediately. If the protest IS NOT upheld, a BENCH MINOR PENALTY for delay of game will result. Once the game is completed, a protest can only be lodged by the associations Seacoast Representative. If the protest is NOT UPHELD a $200 fine will be assessed to the association lodging the protest.
OVER-TIME PROCEDURE-Mites-Squirt-Peewee-Bamtam:
If at the conclusion of regulation play the score is tied, overtime play will begin 1 minute after the end of regulation (no ice resurfacing)under the following format:
Step 1
1. Four on Four – Four minutes sudden death. 2. Three on Three – Three minutes sudden death. *See penalty situation below. 3. Two on Two – Two minutes sudden death. Penalties assessed during step 1(1.) thru 1(3.) will be served. *Second penalty same team 3 on 3, will be delayed.
Step 2 (still tied after step 1)
1 SHOOT OUT - Five (5) players shoot (MOST GOALS WINS). Each team will rotate players and turns, taking the penalty shots. The VISITING team will take the first turn. 2. Next goal wins after each team has a turn; rotating the SAME five players used in STEP-2 and in the SAME sequence.
